Legends of Pele - Black Sand Beaches - Recent Lava Flows - Marine Life - Secluded Vegetation

All aboard!
With over 20 years of watching Peles rivers of fire enter the ocean our goal is to give you a lava experience like no other. After a quick briefing from Captain Shane we're underway. From the get go this is an exciting adventure tour. As we pull out of the boat ramp we'll pass surfers surfing the famous waves here at Po'hoiki Bay. We'll cruise south to MacKensie State Park a popular local hangout and fishing area. Shortly after we pass by Malama flats which looks like it could have been a set from Gilligins Island and gained the locals name "Gilligins" cause of this. Along the coast there are numerous black sand beaches including Kehena Beach. Foxes Beach, and Kalapana/Kaimu Beach which has returned since its destrucion in 1987. During most of the trip you can look up the mountain where the volcano continues to bellow out smoke. On the side of the coast outside Kalapana is the Cave of Refuge, once a shelter for women & children during warfair. Once past civilization we enter the freshly lava covered coastline of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This area shows the remains from the various flows that touched the seas. Currently we're experiencing regular bench break offs, which once triggered avalanche into the depths below leaving amazing cross sections of cooling lava and lava tubes scattered along the cliffs left behind. Also new untouched black sand beaches cover this recently lava filled area. Drips and lava scupltures blanket the coastline as if you were there when it was still flowing. A once in a lifetime experience to the center of life.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - the newest land on earth created within the last 6 monthes, lava sculptures,
bench breaks, pristine black sand beaches that were recently created and may be gone after the next earthquake.
