Aloha & Welcome

We look forward to providing you a first rate ocean adventure you'll never forget here on the East side of the Big Island. We'll meet you down at the boat launch on the mountainside of the harbor to board the Lono. Cruising through the bay we'll teach & show you many point of historical importance to Hilo. Once underway we'll head north to the first of many Hilo's special places, our local surf spot Honoli'i (once a village). From here it's up the coast to see some mystical waterfalls cascading into the Pacific Ocean below. All along the way taking in breathtaking tropical landscapes of Palm filled valleys leading the way up our sleeping giant mountain Mauna Kea that got it first dust of snow on November 6th this year. Our regular sightings of the Spinner & Bottlenose Dolphins are always a crowd pleaser, especially when we see large pods of over 100 showing us their acrobatic spins. The Hamakua coast was home to many sugar companies during the 1900's including the Papaikou sugar mill that resides on a beautiful black sand beach and now is a popular surf spot. One place not to miss is the scenic Onomea Bay, a botanical garden of over 2000 species of plant life reside here in this lush paradise. Just down the coast are large Lava Caves located on a sea cliff. From here we head out into the ocean to see the Humpback Whales. We have been experiencing the Humpbacks daily, with sighting on just about every tour.We see many types of behavior during this important mating time including Breeching, Fluking, Tail Slaps, baby Humpbacks (Calves), and Fighting Competition Pods. While away from the Island you can view Kilauea erupting up the mountain. Once across the bay we'll be off the East Hilo coast where you can see old Mauna Loa lava flows that once flowed into the ocean. On our way back to the harbor we pass by many of Hilo’s popular beach parks and places of historical importance including Leleiwi Point, Richardsons, The Ice Ponds, Onekahakaha, and Puhi Bay.
